KAFR EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: The Freedom and Justice Party blame the officials and security of Kafr el-Sheikh for bloody clashes that erupted on Wednesday between the residents of Balteem and Sook al-Tholatha village leaving four dead and over 70 injured. Director of the Freedom and Justice Party in Kafr el-Sheikh Ragab al-Bana said the leaders of the party called governorate officials to control the situation but to no avail. He added they called the leaders of the party in Cairo to contact Egypt's Interior Ministry directly to interfere to suspend the violence and restore stability to the area after the bloody clashes. Samy al-Nahry, secretary of al-Karama Party, said potential presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi made a phone call to Egypt's Interior Minister, Mansour el-Issawy, demanding him to interfere to suspend the violence in Balteem. Al-Nahry told Youm7 Sabbahi also called General Hassan al-Roweny, member of SCAF, to interfere to contain the clashes and restore security and stability to the area. He also said Sabbahi tried to pressure officials to arrest the criminals involved in the incident.
