Egypt will participate in this year's celebration of World Pneumonia Day through an event in Cairo on Saturday, November 12. The event will be held be “Alashanek Ya Balady” Association for Sustainable Development (AYB), in cooperation with the Egyptian Pharmaceutical Students' Federation (EPSF) and under the auspices of the Egyptian Pediatrics Association (EPA). This event aims to raise funds to vaccinate at least 10,000 at-risk children in impoverished areas in Egypt against pneumonia and to spread awareness of this deadly disease across the country. The event will be held at the Gezira Youth Center and will include a 'museum' corner for children that will include activities with an educational slant, an Open Mic event by Mashroo3 el-Mareekh and other musical performances. Among the performers are Egyptian underground bands Nagham Masry, Masar Egbari and Cairokee.
