The movement of trains in Upper Egypt has resumed after being stopped for more than five hours, according to Hani Hegab, head of the Railway Authority. Sohag governorate residents started a sit-in over the lack of Petrol 80, the most commonly available petrol grade. The sit-in stopped the movement of trains for more than five hours. Hegab told Youm7, “Many residents and taxi drivers went in a sit-in on the rails in Sohag, causing the trains' movement between Cairo and Aswan to stop. They put fire on the rails because of a problem that has nothing to do with the Railway Authority.” Arabic here.
