links: Al-nour party, al-asaala party, al-karama party, salafi, CAIRO: Egyptian Coptic Christian politicians accused the Islamic Party Alliance, which includes al-Nour Party, al-Asaala Party and Building and Development Party, of having bad intentions towards Egyptian Coptic Christians. The Islamic Proportional Representation (PR) lists for Peoples' Assembly have no Coptic Christians candidates, said leader of al-Karama Party and nominee in the list of the Democratic Alliance PR list, Ameen Alexander. He described Salafi parties as "hard powers" which only recently entered the political scene. These parties always claim they are not religious ones but they run for parliamentary elections without any Coptic Christian candidates. This reflects how far they are actually religious parties, he added. Alexander called upon Egyptian judiciary to take necessary measures against the Salafi parties as being religious. However, one Islamic Parties Alliance said the Alliance does not deliberately intend to exclude and neglect Coptic Christian candidates to run for the parliamentary elections and the parties did not receive a request from Coptic Christian for the elections yet. The member highlighted the Alliance platform will tackle the problems of the Coptic Christians fairly.
