Egypt refused an Israeli request to release another five alleged Israeli spies in the prisoner swap agreement involving Ilan Grapel, reported Israeli general radio today. Egypt decided to keep these five prisoners out of the deal and instead negotiate in the future, Hebrew radio reported. The five alleged spies include Ouda Tarabi, who has been detained for 10 years, and Jordanian national Bashar Abu Zeid. Tarabin's attorney today announced that Israeli authorities told the Tarabin family that they will work to repatriate him in Israel.
