CAIRO: Last week, 149 new companies were established the Egyptian General Authority for Investment and Free Zones announced Saturday. The figure is less than the previous week, when 185 companies were established. An average of 30 companies were established each day. The new companies include an agriculture company, 30 industrial companies, 4 tourist firms, 42 service companies, 12 communication and information technology companies, 6 construction companies, a finance company, and 53 multipurpose firms Nine were registered as general partnership companies, 26 as Egyptian joint stock companies, 48 as limited liability companies, 17 as limited partnerships, and 29 with a single owner. The capital of these companies totaled 153 million EGP (U.S. $25.7 million). Egyptian capital made up 75.1 percent of investment, while Arab and Foreign capital made up 4.4 percent and 20.5 percent of capital, respectively. The new companies provided around 1,660 job opportunities for the Egyptian youth. Arabic here
