The Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI) today announced that 185 new companies were established last week and 113 companies were established the week before, bringing the daily average to 37 companies a day. The GAFI list claims that, of the new companies established, 33 are industrial-related, seven are tourism-related, eight are communications-related, four are agriculture-related, four are construction-related, 58 are multi-sector companies and one is finance-related. The legal form of the new companies varied. There are 44 joint stock corporations, 61 companies with limited responsibilities, 18 joint liability companies, 15 limited liability companies (LLCs) and 47 sole proprietorships. GAFI announced that the new companies will provide 3,696 job opportunities, 3,687 of which are reserved for Egyptian nationals.
