Potential presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi announced he would not run in the upcoming parliamentary elections Monday, after the political office of the al-Karama Party agreed to his decision during a meeting. Sabbahi said his name was included on al-Karama's party list, but he decided not to run. He said the party would list Nasri el-Dowansy as a leader of the party. There was a meeting few days ago between the Sabbahi campaign and the political office of the al-Karama Party to discuss Sabbahi's candidacy. Sabbahi also apologized for not attending a conference organized by Egyptian organizations in United States this month. He said he wants to meet with the Egyptians abroad all over the world, including the U.S. On a related note, a delegation from the Sabbahi campaign visited the family of Mina Daniel, who was killed during the Maspiro clashes last Sunday. Sabbahi is supposed to visit Daniel's family and those injured in the clashes at the Coptic Hospital.
