Israeli envoy arrives in Cairo today

David Median, the Israeli envoy to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, arrived early this morning at Cairo International Airport for a negotiation in Egypt.
Sources at the Cairo Airport said that the Israeli envoy will hold talks with Egyptian authorities about a pending deal between Hamas and Israel to swap prisoners – including Gilad Shalit.
The deal to release Shalit, who has been detained by Hamas since June 2006, involves the release of 1,027 Palestinian prisoners and will take place in two stages. Israel is slated to release 475 prisoners in the coming days.
