Chairman of the El Nassery Party Sameh Ashour today announced that his party would withdraw from the democratic coalition, while underlining that he would remain politically involved in the coalition. The reason for the Party's withdrawal was the control over the coalition by the Freedom and Justice Party, who also controlled the heads of the electoral lists, said Ashour. This comes after some sources revealed that al-Karama Party also withdrew from the coalition, which means that the coalition now only includes two parties: the Freedom and Justice Party and Ghad el-Thawra. Some sources said the main reason for the withdrawal of the al-Nassery and al-Karama Parties was their objection to the order of their candidates on the coalition's lists. Both Parties' candidates were limited to the third line on the lists, except the potential presidential candidate and former deputy of al-Karama Hamdeen Sabbahi, who was on the top of one of the lists for the Kafr el-Sheikh governorate.
