Coptic Church to meet with Pope over Maspiro violence

CAIRO: Egypt's Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria met with members of the St. Mark's Coptic Cathedral in Abbassiya to discuss the Maspiro incidents between the Copts and Egyptian Military Forces on Sunday October 9, in which 24 died and 272 were injured.
The meeting was filled with a state of sorrow and media reports prevented to cover the meeting itself until a statement is released about the Maspiro incidents.
Pope Shenouda will lead the prayers for the Maspiro martyrs' souls in the Cathedral, which is surrounded with the military police for protection and security.
