Pope Shenouda back at Cathedral, in stable health condition Pope Shenouda III, the Coptic Orthodox Patriarch's bout of ill health is not serious, say doctors
Pope Shenouda III of Alexandria has returned to the Cathedral's headquarters after undergoing medical check-ups in Cairo. The state of his health was found to be relatively stable. Doctor Wahid Doos, who examined the Pope, said the Coptic Patriarch suffered from a small laryngeal ulcer that will be treated by medication rather than surgery. The Coptic pope could not deliver his weekly sermon on Wednesday at St Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral due to his health problem. Bishop Armia, the pope's assistant, also quashed rumours that Pope Shenouda would travel abroad for treatment.
