WADI GEDID, Egypt: The Pharaohs Rally arrived in the Upper Egypt governorate of Wadi Gedid, entering a new path in Farafra region, which is 2799 km long. It is divided to six phases. This is the 27th turning for the rally. 200 racers from 25 Arab and foreign countries are participating in the rally with 41 cars, 76 motorbikes and 27 trucks. 132 journalists and photographers are covering the rally. Dawoud Suleiman, Farafra governor, said Farafra, in cooperation with the regional authority to activate tourism and the rally organizer, prepared a camp to receive cars , trucks and equipment. The camp is held on 6,000 square meters. It provides all facilities for races. Security forces, civil defense and health sectors are securing the rally and providing ambulances and firefighters in the camp. “This international event is a step to activate tourism. Farfra region has lots of natural parks,” said Suleiman. The rally will continue its phase tomorrow, heading to the Pyramids region in Giza.
