A Libyan delegation will visit Egypt to sign a cooperation agreement with the Egyptian government to bring 15,000 Egyptian workers to Libya, Egyptian Minister of Manpower Ahmed al-Boraei told Youm7 Thursday. "The workers will contribute to the rebuilding process in Libya,” he added. “The type of labor will be determined during the protocol signing." Boraei said that Egyptian labor and business owners faced a lot of obstacles during the former regime's era, because of the faulty policies of the regime and the Ministry of Manpower. He said that Egypt's export of labor to Arab Gulf countries has declined lately, after dominating in the sixties and seventies. The Minister added that Asian labor replaced Egyptian workers lately because of poor Egyptian labor efficiency blamed on a lack of training programs and the restrictions imposed on labor emigration. Saleh Nasr, Head of the General Division of the Egyptian Employment Companies Abroad, said "We aim to open new markets for the Egyptian labor in Arab, African, and European countries, and expand the role of Egyptian workers remittances from outside directly through national banks." He also said that the ministry also aims to provide workers with medical insurance.
