SOUTH SINAI, Egypt: South Sinai's governor met with three artists yesterday to discuss constructing a memorial for the martyrs of Egypt's January 25 Revolution in Sharm el-Sheikh. “The memorial's slogan is, ‘a gift of love for a city of peace,' in order to immortalize the January 25 Revolution and its martyrs,” said Elaf Hegazy, who is responsible for the project. The memorial is a pyramid with four gates. Every gate has its Egyptian nature which merges different Egyptian civilizations. The memorial includes the names of all January 25 Revolution martyrs. It will be 15 meters high and 30 meters wide. Hegazy said Sharm el-Sheikh was chosen because its tourism rank. Tourists who visit will see the memorial and witness Egyptians' sacrifice for freedom.
