Professor of Islamic Antiquities Mokhtar el-Kosbany called on Arab governments to blame the United Nations for Israel's violations toward and attempted obliteration of Palestinian Islamic antiquities. At a meeting of the Islamic Heritage Committee, Kosbany said Arab governments must include the violations against Palestine's Islamic antiquities among important international cases. The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) organized the committee. Kosbany said there are documents and files proving the Arab identity of Jerusalem. Another member of the committee, Abdel Aziz Salah, described the infringements or violations imposed upon Jerusalem's antiquities. He said Israel attempted to convert some of the region's Islamic antiquities to serve Jewish identity. During his presentation, Salah said that London University excavated in Jerusalem for ten years at the request of the World Zionist Organization, but did not find evidence that Jerusalem was Jewish. Salah said ISESCO formed a committee of experts in 2009 that intended to visit Jerusalem but was prevented from doing so. Palestinian experts were assigned to investigate the situation and there was a meeting held in Jordan. ISESCO has decided to go through international trials to ensure its concerns are heard. International law punishes violations against antiquities or international properties. Israel has refused to agree to the resolutions by the United Nations' Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
