Egypt assured its commitment about the Egyptian-Israeli Camp David peace treaty, as long as Israel is also committed to the treaty, according to Israel Radio station. Israel Radio added the Egyptian declaration was a response to the recall of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday to the Egyptian ambassador in Israel, Yassir Reda, to make clarifications to statements made by Egyptian Principals and Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf. They aim to restart negotiations about the Camp David peace treaty, signed in 1979 by Israel and Egypt. The meeting lasted for 30 minutes between the Egyptian ambassador and the General Manager of Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rafi Barack, who stressed Israel doesn't have any intentions to restart negotiations about the Camp David peace treaty under any circumstances. “Israel isn't happy with these statements and the Camp David peace treaty includes a term allowing each party to reconsider each term in the treaty,” Rafi Barack.
