Egyptian presidential candidate Amr Moussa strongly refused the extension of the emergency law, although he supports the use of force against thugs and to those who destabilize Egypt. He expressed his refusal to the violence at the Israeli embassy in Cairo on September 9 and criticizes the demands raised by some political powers to cancel the Camp David peace treaty signed between Egypt and Israel in 1979. He added the Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty is one of the historic documents, not to be violated. He described the Turkish Prime Minister, Ragab Tayeb Erdogan, as a man who cares to achieve the demands of his people and their interests. Moussa praised Turkey for dealing with the Israeli attack against the Freedom Flotilla I, believing it was wise dealing with the situation, which lead to an increasing popularity for Erdogan in Turkey. Moussa said relations between Egypt and Turkey deteriorated during the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's regime, but improved after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. He said the current deterioration in Turkish-Israeli relations serve the interests of Palestinians. Moussa will establish mechanism to contact with Egyptians by opening an office, accessible to the governor of each governorate in Egypt, if he becomes Egypt's next president. "We know the people's problems and we will work to resolve these problems. We will support the people as a strength of Egypt," he added.
