Members of the Syrian community in Egypt protested outside the Arab League Headquarters Monday, demonstrating against Syrian government violence towards protestors. Protestors opposed attempts to distort the Syrian cause, and rejected the Syrian regime's promises of the reform. Demonstrators criticized the Arab League's position towards the Syrian uprising, citing a lack of action to help Syrian aspirations for reform. Protestors also criticized Arab League Secretary-General Nabil al-Arabi's visit to Syria in which he only met with Syrian government officials and did not meet with the opposition. Protesters said the visit was for the benefit of the regime rather than the opposition. Protesters chanted slogans against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad such as, "No promises or reforms! We want your head, killer!" and "The people want Bashar executed!"
