Egyptian ambassador to the United Nations Maged Abdel-Fattah today returned to his office in New York to begin making preparations for the 66th United Nations General Assembly session, which will commence this Tuesday. The Egyptian delegation will support the Palestinian effort to gain international recognition of the Palestinian State,” said Abdel-Fattah. “The session will also include a discussion of topics like disarmament, promotion of justice in international law, the protection of human rights and development in Africa.” “I was a part of the Egyptian delegation headed by the foreign minister during the 50th anniversary of the non-aligned movement in Belgrade, and I will continue preparations for the participation of Egypt in the General Assembly of the UN,” he added. “Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Kamel Amr will leave for New York on September 18 and lead the delegation of Egypt,” the ambassador said. “The minister will deliver a speech on the ‘non-aligned movement.'” The foreign minister will also hold several presentations and high-level meetings regarding terrorism, non-communicable diseases, like cancer, diabetes and respiratory illnesses.
