The Kuwaiti delegation that arrived to Cairo to defend the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak decided to leave Cairo after attending the fourth session of Mubarak's trial on Wednesday. Before leaving Egypt, they issued a statement to express their appreciation for Mubarak, describing him as a true leader of the Arab nation and thanking him especially for his support for Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion in 1990. They decided to leave Cairo and not to attend the next sessions. They will include the testimonies of the chairman of Egypt's ruling military council, Hussein Tantawi; the Vice President of the military council, Smay Anan; the former Vice President, Omar Suleiman; Egypt's Minister of Interior, Mansour al-Essawi; and former Minister of Interior, Mahmoud Wagdy. They all express their respect and commitment to the court's decision of confidentiality of the next sessions. The Kuwaiti Lawyers added they will return to Egypt to attend the rest of the sessions, clarifying they did brief on the case and will write memorandums to be offered to Mubarak's team of defense. The appreciated the Egyptian Ministry of Interior and of Justice for allowing them to attend the fourth session of Mubarak's trial. They also appreciated Egyptians and expressed their respect to the court's decisions, especially since the secret secessions will be held next week relating to Egypt's national security.
