LUXOR, Egypt: The General Guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, Mohamed Badie, today visited Luxor and met with governor Ezzat Saad. “Egypt depends on tourism to support its economy,” said Badie. “Ninety percent of Luxor residents work in the tourism sector.” Badie refused to answer political questions during his visit to Abu Hagag Kosary Mosque and Karnak Temple in Luxor. “Egyptian monuments are holy – they are our heritage and must be preserved and kept as witness to the Egyptian civilization,” said Badei. Badie in the past has opposed protests that delay production and tourism. “The process of poverty in Upper Egypt was deliberate,” said Badie. “Many youth in Upper Egypt were detained and agriculture was halted.”
