CAIRO: Chair of the Libyan Transitional National Council (TNC) Mustafa Abdel Gelil today asked Egyptian laborers to return to Libya after rebels vanquished the Gadhafi regime in Tripoli, reported Egyptian Minister of Manpower Ahmed al-Boraei. The TNC reduced the cost of a Libyan labor license from 500 Libyan Dinar (LYD) to 100 LYD, said al-Boraei. The 1.5 million Egyptian laborers in Libya have not been negatively affected by the current strife in Tripoli between Gadhafi loyalists and Libyan rebel forces, Gelil reported. Many Egyptian laborers fled Libya at the outbreak of conflict between rebel forces and Gadhafi forces, particularly after Saif al-Islam, one of Muammar Gadhafi's sons, accused Egyptian laborers of inciting violence and supporting protests in Libya. The Chair of the TNC hopes this will put an end to the suppression of Egyptian laborers.
