The Ministry of Education is currently considering Libyan interim transitional government's request of sending Egyptian teachers to Libya at the start of the new school year, because of the shortage of teaching staff in Libyan schools. This request was made after Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf pledged to support the transitional government in the fields of health, education, security and electricity. Sources at the Ministry of Education say the ministry is looking for Egyptian teachers to be sent to both Libya and South Sudan. A delegation, headed by the Head of the transitional Libyan government, President Mahmoud Jibril, the former Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdel Rahman Shalgam, and the former Ambassador, Abdul Rahman el-Houni, met with chairman of the Egyptian Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Hussein Tantawi, and Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf to discuss cooperation between Egypt and Libya after both countries' revolutions.
