A group of Israelis have called for a protest outside the Egyptian embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel in response to the unsanctioned removal of the flag from the Israeli embassy in Cairo, reported Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth. The protesters called for a demonstration to begin outside the Egyptian embassy at 6 p.m. where they will demand the cancellation of the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. They are also demanding the withdrawal of the Israeli ambassador from Cairo and the expulsion of the Egyptian ambassador from Tel Aviv. Israeli security forces are prepared for the demonstrations, including the potential for clashes or break-ins at the embassy, the paper reported.
