Air Sinai today announced that it will reduce the number of flights to Israel to three times a week instead of four due to events at the Egyptian-Israeli border in the last two days. This brings the number of flights per month to 12 instead of 16. “Recent events have affected the occupancy rate of aircraft destined for Israel, as the number of passengers has decreased by up to 35 percent,” said an official source at the airline. The source explained that Air Sinai was tightening security measures on planes bound for Israel to include the need to identify each passenger and his luggage before takeoff. The number of passenger planes bound for Israel after the January 25 Revolution dropped by up to 25 percent.
