The land port between Egypt and Israel, Taba border, today saw 1,400 Israelis cross into Egypt on their way to the southern Sinai resort towns like Sharm el-Sheikh, Nuweiba and Taba. There were also 82 cars that reportedly crossed into Egypt. “The port is operating normally and the recent events in Eilat have not affected the influx of tourists even though security forces are all over the desert near Taba,” a security source said.
