The main Egyptian stock index, EGX 30, rose 3.37 percent on the week, closing at 4,747 points. The medium and small companies' index, EGX 70, declined 2.09 percent to 556 points. EGX 100 fell 0.1 percent, closing at 863 points. Total transactions reached 1.6 billion EGP (U.S. $0.26 billion), involving 306 million securities across 99,000 trades, in comparison with total transactions reached 2.5 billion EGP (U.S. $0.41 billion). The quantity of transactions reached 452 million securities implemented on 132,000 procedures during the last week. Transactions on the Nile stock market were valued 11.5 million EGP (U.S. $1.92 million), totaling 4.6 million securities across 277 trades. Shares accounted for 99.36 percent of transaction value, while bonds accounted for 0.64 percent of this week's trading.
