Former officer in the Special Guard of the Council of Ministries Tamer Nabil today allegedly assaulted Amal Ramadan, the secretary to the Deputy Egyptian Prime Minister. As Egyptian Prime Minister Essam Sharaf was on his way to a meeting with the Supreme Council of Energy, Nabil told Ramadan to “get out of his way.” “Don't stand in the way of the Prime Minister,” Nabil yelled. “You don't have to raise your voice in such a way,” Ramadan responded. As soon as the Prime Minister left the area, Nabil allegedly slapped Ramadan several times on the face and kicked her. Three other members of the Security Sector for the Council of Ministries intervened and stopped the attack. While the Prime Minister is still unaware of the attack, witnesses say they will present the evidence to the minister shortly. Tamer was moved earlier from the Ministry of Petroleum to the Security Sector in the Council of Ministries, and his father used to work as an inspector in the dissolved State Security force.
