CAIRO: Members of the Libyan community in Cairo gathered outside the Libyan Embassy today. They wanted to break into the embassy and raise the ‘flag of independence' – the red, black and green flag that Libyan revolutionaries have adopted in place of the white-on-green flag of Muammar Gadhafi's Libya. The Egyptian armed forces surrounded the embassy, which caused some clashes between them and the protestors. Libyan protestors asked embassy officials to join them instead of being “traitors.” They chanted slogans such as, “Mean Embassy, It is the last day” and “Remove shame and open doors for protestors.”
