CAIRO: A lawyer for ousted Egyptian President Honsi Mubarak held a private meeting with the former president to coach him on his answers for today's resumption of the former leader's murder trial. Youm7 learned from informed sources that lawyer Farid el-Deeb met with Mubarak to discuss the questions expected to be posed by the court today and how the former leader should answer during today's hearing. Today is the second hearing of Mubarak's murder trial. He is accused of financial crimes as well as killing demonstrators during the January uprising that toppled him from power. The sources did not say whether Deeb has held similar sessions with the former president's sons, Alaa and Gamal. It was earlier revealed that the prison warden had allowed members of the former regime liberties, including more visits than legally permissible. The warden was recently relieved of his position for his actions, as part of a reshuffle in Egypt's prison system. The sources said that the Ministry of Interior was finalizing plans to secure the trial last night, including securing the roads from the International Medical Centre on the Ismalia desert road where Mubarak is being held and all entrances and exits around the Police Academy in Cairo's Fifth Settlement, where the trial is being held. Security preparations for the trial included about 5,000 officers and recruits from various sectors of the ministry, in addition to military police and some 50 armored vehicles. The sources said strict instructions were issued to security personnel not to give special treatment to the defendants, especially since the trial is being televised.
