CAIRO: Darb 1718 Center for Contemporary Arts will start its Ramadan festival for movies on Monday. The festival will screen French and English movies with Arabic subtitles twice a week. On Monday August 8, Darb 1718 will screen a French film, ‘Alimentation en conserve' (Canned Food Produced) in 1991, a surreal black comedy film. It tells the story of a clown who moved to a city without knowing that cannibalism is no longer a bad deed. The butcher plans a trick for the clown but the butcher's daughter falls in love with the clown and tries to save him. The festival will also screen ‘Missing in La Manche,' ‘Britain,' ‘Fun Games' Austria 1997, ‘The Child Zealand' 2010 and ‘The Wall United States,' 2004.
