CAIRO: Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Egypt denied that his country is annoyed by the trial of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Ambassador Ahmed Qattan said amnesty for Mubarak was never mentioned during the meetings between Saudi kings and ruling authorities in Egypt. Qattan also denied that Mubarak visited Saudi Arabia after his resignation on February 11. Qattan said Saudi started a new relationship with Egypt's ruling military council and new government. "Saudi is a stable country and it does not interfere in Egyptian affairs," said Qattan. He added that Saudi will never use its employment of Egyptians works as a means to put pressure on the Egyptian regime. Qattan denied that Saudi will dismiss Egyptian workers, saying "Every company or organization must include a specific percentage of Saudi workers as stated by law. This will not harm any Egyptian worker.” Qattan said the kingdom is not against the Arab revolutions. He also said Saudi Arabia is not worried about Egyptian-Iranian relations, adding that Saudi has already built relations with Tehran. "Saudi aims to reveal stability in Egypt because Arab countries without Egypt are as a ship without a captain," said Qattan.
