The stock market indexes started today's transactions, the first session in the holy month of Ramadan, with a rise. They were caused by some of the leading shares, particularly Orascom Telecom, Orascom for construction, Commercial International Bank, Also, Palm Hills, Talaat Mostafa and Arab and institution purchases. The main stock index EGX 30 rose by 0.67 percent, the medium and small companies' index EGX 70 rose by 0.15 percent. The index EGX 100 rose by 0.19 percent, of which the size of transactions reached 36.9 million EGP (U.S. $6.2 million). Some of the leading shares rose today, particularly Qalaa shares rose by 1.03 percent, Commercial International Bank rose by 0.67 percent, Orascom for construction shares rose by 0.51 percent, El-Saeed El-Amma shares rose by 5.2 percent, Palm Hills shares rose by 1.4 percent, Tallat Mostafa shares rose by 1.1 percent, Pioneers shares rose by 1.9 percent and Hermis shares rose by 0.62 percent.
