CAIRO: Human rights organizations accused Prime Minister Essam Sharaf's new government of seeking ways to curb the activities of civil society organizations and impede their roles. They also accuse excluding such organizations out of most of the discussion boards, formed by the ruling authorities of Egypt. The organizations demanded the new government to allow NGOs and human rights activists to do carry out their roles in society. They raised necessary participation of such organizations to build Egypt and achieve change and peaceful transfer of authority to a civil government. They called for the government to dissolve what they called a “blockade” imposed on the work against the organizations. They demanded changing the law No. 84 of 2002 to liberate civil work from administrative authorities. The statement stressed despite current policies impeding activities of such organizations, they are still seeking ways to discuss and debate with the new government. The government didn't respond to the demands offered by over 70 organizations. Demands include meeting the Minister of Social Integration for the same reason. They pointed out the government should responded by forming a committee from the ministry and add new obstacles to the work of the organizations and by amending the law.
