CAIRO: Youm7 English Edition restored security to its website after it was hacked today. The site was only down for a few minutes. The site was hacked at 6:25pm by an unknown person or group of people called ‘hackforgood.' The site was quickly restored by the webmaster. The hacker left a message on the ‘Top Story' icon claiming responsibility for the attack. The hacker said the attack was a response to Youm7 Arabic edition's criticisms of Hazem Abdel Azim last week. Azim had been nominated to be Egypt's minister of communication and information. "We decided to hack Youm7 to express our anger," the message said. Youm7 published an article saying Azim owned 5 percent of the Egyptian CIT company, which runs projects in coordination with the Israeli company Oren. Youm7 English Edition did not publish the story.
