CAIRO: Prominent opposition figure Mohamed el-Baradei, formerly head of the U.N.'s International Atomic Energy Agency, is being sued by members of Egypt's Atomic Energy Agency. Ussri Abu Shady, head of Egypt's atomic agency, accused el-Baradei of harming Egypt's economic and national interests. El-Baradei is a prominent opposition figure in Egypt and is expected to contest the upcoming presidential elections. Abu Shadi accused el-Baradei of being an ally to Israel and the United States. Abu Shadi called on the public prosecutor to freeze el-Baradei's assets, to withdraw the Order of the Nile award - Egypt's highest civilian honor – given to el-Baradei by former president Hosni Mubarak, and to ban el-Baradei from traveling abroad until the investigation against him is concluded.
