The Egyptian Islamic group Gamaa al-Islamiyya issued a statement on its Facebook page expressing its refusal of the principles of the constitution and its support of holding parliamentary elections in September. The statement said the group held consultations with different political and religious powers in Egypt to organize demonstrations across Egypt next Friday. It said the group will organize a million man demonstration on July 29. The statement also said different political and religious powers in Egypt will participate in the July 29 demonstrations to express their refusal of the constitutional principles and to support stability in the country by calling for parliamentary elections to be held on time. Egypt's ruling military council announced earlier this week that it would prepare a list of constitutional principles.
