CAIRO: There are banners around Tahrir Square that reflect the humor of Egyptians as well as art that expresses the demands of the people. It has been claimed that the January 25 Revolution created a new generation of artists who have been inspired by the Egyptian uprising. The square holds a lot of paintings which the protesters change on a daily basis. There are also graffiti designs on the wall of the American University in Cairo (AUC) which will stay for a long time. In the middle of the square, the coalition of artists presents its paintings and leaves at the end of the day. Those artists keep their paintings to present them later in different exhibitions. The coalition insists on participating at the square to express that artists are supporting the revolution and its objectives. The artists are trying to make their work popular, especially after their participation in the wall painting titled, "The Story of a Wall." In front of AUC, two paintings have been drawn showing the demands of the rights of the martyrs of the January 25 Revolution and encouraging people to participate in the strike. This was organized by Egypt's political power and activists at Tahrir Square. "You are not better than those who died," is what is written on the paintings. Other paintings show the demands raised by the people last Friday including freedom of speech, freedom of press and the right to demonstrate. On the other of the square, drawings were held of the martyrs, while other ones mocked the thugs and the Minister of Interior.
