The organization of petroleum exporting countries, Opec, approved to give Egypt and Jordan half a billion U.S. dollars as finance support. It lends money to small companies in both Egypt and Jordan, which is considered a fulfillment to the American Minister of Foreign Affairs' commitment to support investments in the Middle East. Hillary Clinton said Opec will give Egypt U.S. $3 billion as financial support to enhance investments in Egypt. She made this statement during her visit to Egypt last March. The project is considered a result of the cooperation between Opec and the U.S. agency for international development, USAID, which is going to give financial support and technical help for this initiative. The American Embassy in Cairo said this finance will target facilities suffering from shortage of credits for small and medium projects in Egypt and Jordan.
