A seminar will be held on Tuesday, June 5 in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Naguib Mahfouz. The seminar will be held at Book Khan library at 8pm. Naguib Mahfouz was a great Egyptian author. He wrote more than 150 literary works and received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1989. He died in 2006. Critic and researcher Samer Mandi will lecture about some of Mahfouz's novels. In related news, Book Khan library will hold celebrations all year in honor of Mahfouz's 100th birthday. The celebrations include seminars, discussion sessions, screenings of the film versions of his novels, and short biographical movies.
