CAIRO: Thirteen Egyptian political movements and seven political parties have announced in a statement that they will stage an open-ended sit-in Thursday to support the relatives of January 25 Revolution martyrs until their demands are met. The demonstrators call for and end to military prosecution for civilians, a cancellation of the military verdicts passed since January 25, and the re-trail of citizens before civil courts. Protestors signed the statement with the name “rebel political parties and movements federation.” In their statement, they asked for an end to all terror actions, and the pressure on martyrs' relatives to stop calling for the prosecution of those involved in the killing of protestors. The demonstrators condemned and rejected the excessive violence used by police forces on Tuesday evening. They said Egyptians should not be mute about these violations. They said the events indicated there has been no change in the police and security sector. The statement said being silent about these actions means wasting the martyrs' blood. The demonstrators called for the removal and prosecution of corrupt leaders and figures of the Ministry of Interior, including toppled President Hosni Mubarak. They also demanded prosecuting the real killers and naming them in a list, especially the snipers. The political movements who issued the statement include the Coalition of the Lotus Revolution, Youth Revolution Coalition, Positive Movement, Maspiro Youth Union, “We Move, We Build,” Free Egyptians Party, the start, the alliance of Egyptian Awareness, the National Front for Democracy and Justice, Egyptian citizens, Egypt's youth, the Advanced Youth Association, and the Liberation Bloc. The political parties involved were the Social Democratic Egyptian, Awareness, Social People alliance, the Current, al-Tagammu, the Front , and al-Karama Party.
