CAIRO: The Court of Administrative Justice, lead by Judge Hassan Abdel Aziz decided to postpone the lawsuit filed by Shehata Mohammed Shehata to Tuesday. A lawyer and director of the Egyptian Center for political transparency asked for the invalidation of a sale contract of 500,000 square meters in Nabq, in the Gulf of Aqaba. The contract agreement was sent by businessman Jamal Omar, a close friend of the former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, to the Board of State Commissioners to prepare a report their legal opinion regarding the matter. Shehata stated in his lawsuit in June 2007 that the Tourism Development Authority signed a contract with the company Tower Prestige, owned by businessman Jamal Omar, to sell 500,000 square meters for U.S. $10 per meter. This violates the law of auctions and tenders article No. 89 of the year 1998. Jamal Omar used his corruption through friendship with the former president and Gamal Mubarak to get the deal.
