The French Institution for Culture and Cooperation in Munira will hold the ninth round of the Creative Youth Festival on Sunday. The celebration will screen the theatrical show 'The City's Fredom,' directed by Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz. The institution chose six artistic shows for high profile authors that have been used to cope with the Egyptian situation 'The City's Freedom' will be presented by al-Dokhan group, and is based on an Irish play by the Irish author, Brian Vriyal. The story is about three demonstrators forced to hide in the ruler's palace. These demonstrators, however, try to leave the palace after hearing a warning that they will face consequences if they don't subject themselves to authorities. The festival which was originally scheduled to take place in February was delayed due to the January 25 Revolution. Six theatrical shows will present the political and social upheavals that were occurring in Egypt before the revolution. The festival will screen prominent works such as 'The Executioner who is Sentenced to Death', directed by Usama Magdy, and 'The taste of Compliance and Anger,' directed by Mustafa Issa. Both are based on two plays for the Romanian author, Eugene Yonesco. 'Foizak' will also be presented, which is directed by Mahmoud abdel-Aziz, and based on the German play by George Boshnir. 'The Like,' directed by Mohamed Yehia will also be screened. The head of the jury will be the French director, Vincent Aikrebon. Other judges will include Ayman al-Sheioy, a professor in the Higher Institution of Drama and Arts, and director Mohamed Omar. Awards will include the best director, actor, actress, scenario and show. Those who win awards will be given invitations to attend the Avignon festival in France.
