RED SEA, Egypt: Egypt will pay the medical bills of ousted leader Hosni Mubarak and his wife Suzanne, the general director of Sharm el-Sheikh International Hospital, Mohamed Fathalla, told Youm7. Fathallah said all figures published by the media concerning the former president and first lady's medical bills are baseless. He said the hospital sends all bills to the General Prosecution. Under Egyptian Law, the state shall bear all costs of medical care for former presidents and their families, as was the cast with former President Anwar Sadat's family, Fathalla said. Regarding Mubarak's condition, Fathallah said the deposed president is in good condition and that the committee to check his health has not yet arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh. Yesterday the media reported that the state would not bear the costs of Mubarak's treatment.
