CAIRO: Supporters of deposed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak clashed with his critics on Wednesday, Mubarak's 83rd birthday. Supporters called for a demonstration against trying the ousted president during a celebration of his birthday. Anti-Mubarak demonstrators clashed with Mubarak's supporters and stole the birthday cake they had prepared, eating it in celebration of the revolution rather than in celebration of Mubarak's birthday. According to the Ministry of Health, 156 people were injured in the clashes outside Maspiro, the headquarters of the Egyptian Television and Radio. Mubarak's supporters moved to Mustafa Mahmoud Square in Cairo's Mohandiseen neighborhood to celebrate the toppled president's birthday. They demanded an apology from Prime Minister Essam Sharaf for the clashes outside Maspiro. They also called on Sharaf to set up a fact-finding committee to discover who was behind the violence.
