A number of employees in the General Authority for Rehabilitation Projects and Agriculture Development filed a complaint to the Public Prosecutor, Abdel Magid Mahmoud, against police leaders of the January 25 assembly in Fayoum. The complaint accuses the policemen of embezzling 5,000 acres of land dedicated to employees of the authority. The complaint includes a decision by the former Minister of Agriculture in which he dedicated the reclaimed land to retired employees of the authority, the Bureau of Land Reclamation, of the Land Reclamation Fund. According to regulations determined by the ministry, retired employees can claim land under certain conditions, such as working for one of the organizations for at least 10 years not including periods of unpaid leave. A committee was formed to compile a report on the issue, but the report has yet to be completed as the committee members were reportedly attacked by police. The employees accused Ministry officials of slowing the execution of the former minister's 2007 decision to remove police violations. The employees offered reports of violations to the office of the current Minister of Agriculture on March 31 to remove violations and reclaim the land.
