CAIRO: Sources say 364 kg of gold cargo will be sent to Canada by private jet on Thursday. The sources said the jet arrived Wednesday at Cairo Airport from Marsa Alam, Red Sea. The Egyptian Assay and Weights Administration checked the gold, which was movedby private transportation under heavy guard. The jet will transit in Amsterdam. The gold has been extracted form al-Sukkary mine in Marsa Alam by an Australian company. Despite the fact that the Australian laboratories are in Australia, the gold is being sent to Canada. Sources say there is an ambiguity because it is unclear to whom this cargo belongs and why it is headed to Canada instead of Australia. “Why send the gold to laboratories when it is pure? ” they added.
