Egyptian Premier League club Wadi Degla requested signing five Ahli players in the current January transfer window after offloading most of their squad. Degla, owned by Lierse chairman Maged Sami, loaned out 14 players to Belgian third tier Turnhout recently as they now aim to reinforce their squad with youngsters from Ahli. "We have enquired about Ahli's Mohamed Abdul-Fattah, Ahmed Nabil ‘Manga', Hussein Ghoneim, Ayman Ashraf and Ahmed Al-Esh," Degla football director Hazem Khairat told FilGoal.com. Degla, who took an uncommon stance against the league resumption back in October, are set to take part in the competition which is due to kick off on February 2, with a squad of youth. They finished 10th of the Egyptian League standings last season prior to its suspension in the aftermath of February's Port-Said disaster.
