Egypt assistant coach Diaa Al-Sayed says the Pharaohs will meet Portugal in a friendly game in February. “We wanted to play against an African team to prepare for the Zimbabwe game, but the Portugal option is there and we accepted it," Al-Sayed said. Egypt's friendly schedule has been far from stable in recent months, with several fixtures called off or replaced. The Egypt management claimed recently that two matches will take place in January against Ivory Coast and Ghana, only for the latter to announce facing Tunisia. The FA also announced matches against Qatar and Hungary this month, but none of the fixtures has been confirmed yet.
